02.11.2010 Heraklion: Heraklion is a town where, 35 years ago I wanted to treat myself to a swordfish with a friend before our departure for Germany. Just has we had eaten a few mouthfuls, the coach drew up which was to take us to the plane for the return flight to Cologne. Unfortunately I couldn't persuade my friend at the time to finish the fish and miss the coach instead. We would have had enough time.
Today, we're not going to miss our plane of course. We had a brief look at the town with its palm trees and olive trees, Greek music and fantastic weather, not forgetting the wonderful white crests on the waves in the sea.
We take on board our impressions of the weather, sea and scenery - and pasties with Greek cheese to keep the wolf from the door. It will be a long flight. We can't drink too much coffee or other liquids - after all our WC is small ...
