19.02.2011 Gran Canaria: After flying for seven hours we were of course delighted to be officially back in Europe again. But there was a slight shadow over our arrival. Because on the ground Las Palmas did not seem as wonderfully idyllic to us. On the drive to the hotel, Martin suggested flying on to Lisbon the next morning already. After all there wasn't much going on in Las Palmas and Lisbon was a lot more interesting. I agreed immediately.

By the time we were in the hotel at the latest, our decision proved to be an excellent one. It was not a very appealing place and had the worst breakfast buffet of the entire trip. Terrible processed meat and other monstrosities were placed on a long board. The breakfast room had far less charm than any outdated factory canteen. So we wanted to be up and away.
