„To these aeronautical challenges I will rise“
„Since I have done hang-gliding in 1987 for the first time, flying won't get out of my mind. When looking at the earth I ´m fascinated to see how everything moves closer together. In the air I get some peace. I am curious about the big aeronautical tasks during the world orbiting, about the challenges posed by the weather in the different climate zones and about the administrative tasks while flying over and landing in so many countries. I already flew in Germany, other neighbouring countries, and in the USA. But I have not yet been in the air for more than four and a half hours non-stop (as for example from Husum to Strasbourg or over the Alps to Villach).“
